Don’t Go It Alone: In-Home Care Provides You With Expert Cancer Care | Family Tree In-Home Care

The weight of having a loved one battle cancer is substantial. The very act of managing those emotions and loving your beloved can feel like a full-time job. Additionally, cancer care brings so much more than emotional and physical turmoil. There are treatment appointments to keep, errands to run, meals to be prepared, pets to be cared for, laundry to clean, and the seemingly never-ending adherence to a medication schedule.

Here at Family Tree In-Home Care, we want you to know that you’re not alone, and we’re here to help both you and your loved one manage this difficult situation.

Transportation

Depending on the type of cancer and treatment, you may be spending a significant amount of time taking your patient to and from their treatment sessions. For example, radiotherapy is usually given five days a week for 4-7 weeks. Our staff can handle being the chauffeur so that you don’t have to interrupt your daily schedule to try and find the time. We not only courier patients to their appointments, but we can also handle the pick-up and delivery of medications, simple errands, and even driving the patient to social gatherings.

Meal Preparation

Eating a healthy diet is a big part of cancer care and recovery. Our staff can prepare meals for the patient to ensure they’re eating. This prevents the patient from expending too much energy when they should be resting. It also alleviates your stress in worrying about whether your loved one is eating.

Medication Reminders and Administration

Cancer patients often face a medication burden as they try to self-manage their treatments. It can feel like you need an advanced degree to keep all of the details straight!

There can also be an added stress when administering palliative care to a loved one on hospice at home. How much pain medication is too much? What if you make a mistake? What if you don’t administer enough and your loved one feels pain? These are not questions that you should be concerned with or stressing about. Our caregivers are experienced with clients undergoing cancer care and helping patients transition to hospice at home. Let us take care of the medication and administration for you so that you can focus solely on being with them.
