Voyage Houston Feature: Meet Alex Bonetti and Daniel Gottschalk of Family Tree In-Home Senior Care

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Bonetti and Daniel Gottschalk.

Alex and Daniel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Early in life, I made a commitment to myself to focus my entire life on serving others. After all, “there is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.” Initially, I volunteered my time at a local adolescent treatment center assisting teenagers and their families battling with addiction. Impassioned by this experience, I turned my focus to pursuing my degree in psychology so that I could continue to help others.

While attending the University of Texas at Austin, my mother was diagnosed with cancer while my grandmother was battling Alzheimer’s disease. Drawing upon my newfound commitment, I went home during college to be with my mom. It was around this time I knew my true calling would be to care for the health of others. One year after graduating from UT, I formed Family Tree In-Home Senior Care to help care for older adults.

We started Family Tree from my one-bedroom apartment and in five short years have grown to employ over 200 compassionate individuals serving seniors in Houston and the Greater Houston Area. We faced several challenges along the way including regulatory changes and increased competition, but we’ve managed to grow year over year and we’ll be opening our 4th office this year in the Greater Houston Area along with our 1st office outside the Greater Houston Area.
